Recently purchased and installed. These will replace OEM rear hatch struts for a 3rd Gen 4Runner. You do need the bolts/original parts to use with these lift supports. I replaced aftermarket struts that started to sag, but the junkyard supplied the parts that I was missing. Lift the hatch quickly with no sag. Thanks for developing a great product!

These are the ones to use for a 3rd gen 4Runner
If you've got a 3rd gen 4Runner, these are the lifts you want to use. They're heavier duty than the conventional replacement model which is needed, especially in cold weather when the gas has contracted.

Easy to install, works perfectly
97 4Runner SR5 - tailgate wouldn't stay up in cold weather, especially after adding some sound deadening to the panel. For that reason, I purchased the "extra strong" option for the 4Runner and it's perfect. Took all of 10 minutes to install. You'll need a helper but it's basically following a youtube video.

2000 Toyota 4runner hatch lift supports
These work perfect with the heaviness of my hatch door, now it just opens itself up. Simple to install. Note: will need nylon spacer and washers (nylon or rubber grommet)

Night and day difference
What a difference between my old lift struts and the Strong Arm struts. It actually takes some force to close them and now the hatch pops right up with zero struggle.
Definitely recommend.
