Direct-fit replacement for the original support, restoring proper lift and hold on a sagging or failing hood. Also fits the 1980-1989 Lincoln Town CAR and 1980-1981 Lincoln Continental. Hood Support 4104
Firstly I would like to compliment Jessica for her help on the phone. She's a keeper.
Secondly, I would like to recommend that you add this support instructions to your included instruction sheet. I had to remove and flip over the spring clip (retainer) on each lift and straighten the rotational alignment of the ends in order to line up with the pins on my hood. My pins are parallel but point in opposite directions.
Lastly, a word of caution! Support that hood well, mine was very heavy. Your descriptive literature says they will support hoods up to 200# and I bet mine is close to that. Use a broomstick or 2x4 if you have one.
When used in accordance with the StrongArm Vehicle Application Listing, AVM warrants the StrongArm Gas Charged Lift Support against any defects in manufacturing or workmanship for a period of 12 months from installation.
