Replaces the original support to bring a sagging or slow-closing trunk back to proper lift and hold. Fitment note: (With Ball End Fittings) (Mfg. 03/1981 To 01/1982). I needed more force to support the weight of my trunk because I added a big wing. This was almost identical dimensions to the OEM one on my c7 corvette stingray coupe. Worked perfectly so far.
