Lift Supports for Hood and Tailgate
I highly recommend this company and their lift products. My vehicle is about 11 years old and both the hood and tailgate supports were wearing out. My dealership recommended that I replace the hood supports and gave me a price of $693 which was high for me. I found this site and looked at the videos and the ones on u-tube and thought I could do it myself. The ordering was simple - very clear and straight forward. Both sets cost me about $85 in total. It took me about 30 minutes to install both sets, including driving my car out of the garage and turning it around. A couple hints - I bought a Hood Prop on amazon - that was designed specifically to keep your hood open when your supports don’t work or you are replacing them. It is adjustable and worked great. I used a 6-ft ladder to hold my tailgate up while I was removing and installing the new supports. That is about the perfect height and required only a minor additional lift to get supports in place. I watched several videos to see exactly how to put these in - gave me more confidence. I am a 72 year old grandma with an artificial hip,, so if I can do this, anyone can!!!
